Imagem has inked a long-term deal with Soho Music Publishing, the new publishing arm of creative music agency Soho Music.
Imagem have worked with Soho Music over many years, collaborating on campaigns including Guinness, Castrol and Not On The High Street. The new partnership will extend their working relationship, with Imagem acting as administrator for Soho Music Publishing’s growing catalogue and plugging existing copyrights into the global Imagem Creative Services unit.
The new arrangement also includes all future rights of iconic producer and writer MJ Cole (pictured), published by Soho Music Publishing, who has released some of the most important UK dance records of the past two decades. Alongside his Mercury Prize-nominated and Mobo Award-winning 2000 debut Sincere, MJ Cole has written with recording artists including Dizzee Rascal, Jimmy Napes, Karen Harding and Mary J Blige.
Natasha Baldwin, group president, creative & marketing at Imagem said: “We have had a fantastic relationship over the years with Kate (Young) and her team at Soho Music. As we move into this new phase, it feels a very natural fit to be able to assist on the publishing side, and look forward to the new arrangement.”
Kim Frankiewicz, managing director, Imagem Music UK added: “Matthew (MJ Cole) is a true visionary as a producer who equally has the ability to stay absolutely on point as a writer. We’re very excited about what we’ve heard and really look forward to this new chapter in his career”.
Kate Young, MD at Soho Music commented: “As we reach 10 years the founding of Soho Music Publishing is a natural progression. Combined with the collaboration of Imagem it is next step in achieving even greater milestones, helping shape another successful decade together”
