Live Nation cleared in antitrust lawsuit

The Fourth Circuit Court has rejected a long-running antitrust lawsuit against Live Nation.

In 2009, It’s My Party Inc, which runs the Merriweather Post Pavilion in Maryland, US, accused Live Nation of engaging in monopolistic policies.

The case was dismissed by a District Judge and has now been upheld by the appeals court.

“We applaud the Fourth Circuit’s ruling and appreciate the panel’s judicious verdict which eradicates claims of anti-competitive conduct by asserting that the ‘purpose of antitrust law is to penalise anticompetitive practices, not competitive success,’” said a statement from Live Nation.
