The Orchard has struck a digital music distribution deal with DHX Media.
DHX Media is a key player in the creation of content for families and children, recognised for brands such as Yo Gabba Gabb!, Caillou, Teletubbies, Inspector Gadget (pictured) and more.
The company owns the world’s largest library of children’s and family TV content and will be making more than 2,000 tracks of children’s music from its shows available to retail, download-to-own and streaming platforms via its deal with The Orchard.
In a separate deal, The Orchard will also be distributing more than 8,000 episodes of DHX’s shows to electronic sell-through platforms.
The deal covers the US, Latin America, South Africa, Europe, Australia and New Zealand, in multiple languages.
Josh Scherba, SVP distribution at DHX Media, said: “With the global proliferation of digital entertainment platforms, it is imperative to team up with selected companies that offer specific expertise. The Orchard is a pioneering distribution business, ideally positioned to help expand the availability of DHX shows and music in the digital space.”
Paul Davidson, SVP of film & TV at The Orchard, said: “DHX represents the best in children’s programming and we’re excited about the fantastic opportunity to bring their stellar shows and music to fans all across the globe as digital continues to grow exponentially.”
